Dr Franco WT Cheng - Moderator
Dr Franco Cheng completed his PhD in HKUMed. He is a pharmacist by training and obtained both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Hong Kong. He is also a board certified pharmacotherapy and cardiology specialist of BPS. Like a lot of the local pharmacy graduates, Franco worked mostly in hospital settings in Hong Kong upon graduation. He then joined HKU in 2021 as a research pharmacist in COVID-19 Vaccines Adverse Events Response and Evaluation (CARE) Programme prior to taking up the lecturer position. Currently, Franco is deeply involved in the education and training of future pharmacists. He is currently one of the programme co-ordinators of the Master of Advanced Pharmacy Programme in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy and is also the course coordinator for the certificate course in primary healthcare for pharmacists.
Dr Kevin Sneed - Speaker
Dr. Kevin Sneed is a tenured Professor and the founding Dean of the USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy. He also serves as Senior Associate Vice President for USF Health. Dr. Sneed’s research and clinical interests include the advanced pharmacological treatment of patients with Cardio-Metabolic Disorders, examining Health Care Disparities, and Emerging Health Technologies. He is a national lecturer on these topics. Recent research interests include the implementation of health equity practices, application of mobile health technologies, digital health applications, and sports medicine pharmacology practices. He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, abstracts, poster presentations, and has participated in multiple federal and industry sponsored grant projects. Notably, Dr. Sneed served as a site principal investigator and co-investigator on medication clinical trials.
Prof Krzysztof Filipiak - Panelist
Professor Krzysztof J. Filipiak is ISCP Governor for Poland, Professor of Cardiology and currently Deputy Rector for Internationalization, Promotion and Development at the Medical University of Warsaw. On appointment in 2009 he was the youngest person to be made professor of cardiology in Poland. He is President-Elect of the Polish Society of Hypertension and Past Chair of the Polish Cardiac Society Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy Working Group (CP-WG).
