Optimal Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy for the Frail Patient?

Share

Description

As part of ESC Congress 2026 in Munich, ISCP and ESC joined forces for an Official Joint Session addressing one of the most pressing challenges in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy: how to manage frail, older patients whose complexity often falls outside standard guideline recommendations.

Chaired by Luigina Guasti (University of Insubria, Varese, Italy) and Juan Carlos Kaski (St George's Hospital, London, UK), the session brought together ISCP and ESC experts to examine pharmacotherapy decisions in frail HFrEF patients, practical strategies for managing atrial fibrillation in this population, the clinical rationale for de-prescribing antihypertensive treatment, and how AI tools are beginning to support individualised care decisions.

The recording is now available on-demand.
