Joffre Lara Teran

Dr. Joffre Lara Teran is ISCP Governor for Ecuador. He is a cardiologist specialized in hemodynamics. He currently serves as Head of the Cardiology Department at Hospital Juan Tanca Marengo in Guayaquil, and is the President of the Ecuadorian Society of Cardiology.

Affiliations/Memberships

Dr. Joffre Lara practices as a cardiologist at Clínica Kennedy Samborondón and Clínica Panamericana in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He completed a fellowship in the Coronary Care Unit at the Montreal Heart Institute, Canada.

Dr. Lara is a postgraduate professor in the Cardiology programme at Universidad Espíritu Santo in Guayaquil, and in the Internal Medicine programme at the State University of the same city.

He has served as President of the Pan-American College of Endothelium and of the Ecuadorian Society of Atherosclerosis and Endothelium, and currently serves as the President of the Ecuadorian Society of Cardiology.

He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (Spanish edition) and has authored or co-authored publications in leading scientific journals, including the International Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Hypertension, The Lancet, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
