Steps to New Paradigms – 3rd Edition

Joint Symposium in Romania

The 3rd Edition of the ISCP Symposium – "Steps to New Paradigms", to be held on Friday, 13 November 2026 in the Senate Hall of the "George Emil Palade" University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureș, Romania, will bring together clinicians, researchers and cardiovascular pharmacotherapy experts for a full day of discussions focused on emerging mechanisms, therapeutic targets and challenging clinical decisions in contemporary cardiovascular medicine.

Building on the highly interactive format of the previous edition, which combined focused scientific lectures, commented clinical cases and panel discussions, the 2026 symposium will explore:

  • Residual cardiovascular risk: from mechanisms to new therapeutic targets;

  • New therapeutic targets in heart failure;

  • Translational cardiology and challenging interfaces: cardionephrology, cardiorheumatology and cardio-oncology;

  • Cardiac arrhythmias;

  • New frontiers in cardiovascular pharmacology.

A keynote lecture by Professor Peter Ferdinandy will complement the scientific programme. The symposium is designed to encourage discussion between senior experts and younger cardiologists and to translate recent advances in cardiovascular pathophysiology and pharmacology into clinically meaningful decisions.

Prof. Péter Ferdinandy

Keynote speaker: Prof. Péter Ferdinandy, MD, PhD, MBA, FESC
Director, Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, and Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Semmelweis University, Budapest (Hungary)
