ISCP Cardiovascular Teams Domains

Connecting international expertise to advance cardiovascular pharmacotherapy

The ISCP Cardiovascular Teams bring together healthcare professionals, researchers and experts from around the world with a shared interest in specific areas of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy. The Teams provide a collaborative platform for members to exchange knowledge, identify emerging clinical needs and develop meaningful scientific and educational initiatives.

Each CV Team focuses on a defined clinical domain while working within the broader mission of ISCP to promote the appropriate and effective use of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy worldwide. Through international collaboration, the Teams aim to connect expertise across countries and disciplines and translate current evidence and clinical experience into practical resources for the cardiovascular community.

What do the CV Teams do?

The Teams will work collaboratively to identify priorities and develop activities that respond to current clinical and educational needs. Depending on the domain and opportunities identified by each Team, activities may include:

The Teams are intended to be dynamic and collaborative, allowing members to contribute according to their expertise, interests and availability. Activities may involve collaboration between different CV Teams, external experts and partner organisations where appropriate.

CV Team Domains

The Heart Failure CV Team brings together international experts with an interest in the pharmacological management of heart failure across its different phenotypes and stages. The Team will focus on current and emerging therapeutic strategies, optimisation of pharmacotherapy, treatment challenges and areas where evidence needs to be translated into practical clinical application.

The Team will support the development of educational and scientific initiatives addressing real-world challenges in heart failure management, including evidence-based treatment approaches, multimorbidity, patient individualisation and emerging therapies. Its work will aim to facilitate international knowledge exchange and support the appropriate use of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy in patients with heart failure.

The Arrhythmia & Anticoagulation CV Team focuses on pharmacological approaches to cardiac arrhythmias and the prevention of thromboembolic events, with particular attention to areas of evolving evidence and complex clinical decision-making. The Team will explore contemporary approaches to rhythm and rate management, anticoagulation and the optimisation of treatment across diverse patient populations.

Through collaborative scientific and educational activities, the Team will address practical challenges in the management of arrhythmias and anticoagulation, including special populations, treatment selection, drug interactions, balancing thromboembolic and bleeding risks, and the integration of pharmacological and broader clinical strategies.

The Cardio-Kidney-Liver-Metabolic (CKLM) Disorders CV Team addresses the increasingly interconnected nature of cardiovascular, renal, hepatic and metabolic disease. The Team will focus on the complex relationships between these conditions and the implications for cardiovascular risk, disease progression and pharmacological treatment.

The Team will promote a multidisciplinary and integrated approach to pharmacotherapy, addressing treatment challenges arising from multimorbidity, altered drug response, polypharmacy and interactions between cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular therapies. Its activities will aim to support evidence-based, patient-centred approaches across the cardio-renal-metabolic and hepatic spectrum.

Join an ISCP Cardiovascular Team

ISCP welcomes healthcare professionals, researchers and other professionals with an interest in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy who would like to contribute to these international initiatives.

By joining a CV Team, members can participate in scientific and educational projects, collaborate with colleagues from different countries and contribute their expertise to activities that support the advancement of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.
