The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; commonly known as 2019 novel coronavirus) is a public health emergency of international concern.

An increasing number of reports have shown that direct and indirect effects of SARS-CoV-2 on the heart are extremely important as prognostic determinants of COVID-19.

Professor Koji Hasegawa presents the first lecture on Myocardial Injury in COVID-19, describe on possible mechanisms of myocardial injury and postulate the risk of developing dilated cardiomyopathy in future.
