Message from our President

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

The end of the year is approaching. I recollect on the months past and my mind rests on an eventful second half of the year, which included the Annual Scientific Meeting organized by the Singapore team, albeit virtually. This year, we saw over 1700 delegates attending, all made possible by the mode of virtual meetings.

I acknowledge the work of the ISCP faculty reflected in this edition of the newsletter – high-quality scientific content, both in expanded form as textbooks and in bite-sized clips, like the new CLAPs which have generated much attention. Newest up our sleeves is a bi-monthly webinar series, affectionately dubbed the “A to Z of CV Pharmacotherapy”. In this series, we seek to go back to basics with Pharmacotherapy – the treatment of a disease or disorder with medicine. The principles which are taught to us in school are skilfully combined with real-world questions posed by practitioners like you and me. It is all made applicable through case-based discussions, hand-chosen by the pharmacists who lead the discussions. This is the true epitome of interdisciplinary collaboration!

As the world commences its reset of its stance with COVID-19, here’s a reminder to everyone to mark the dates for the 2022 ISCP Annual Scientific Meeting which will be happening in Bucharest, Romania. It will be an exciting new year, where travelling for meetings and conferences can hopefully start again. Until we meet in person, take care, and stay safe and healthy.

Jack Tan
President, ISCP
