Dr. Alfonso Bryce is ISCP Governor for Peru. ISCP Governors act as representatives for different countries worldwide to encourage local participation and contribute to the ISCP’s educational programmes.
Dr. Alfonso Bryce is the founder of the Clínica El Golf, in Lima, Peru, where he acts as an attending cardiologist, as well as Director of the Cardiology Department and of the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit, Cardigolf.
He is a Professor of Cardiology at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. Dr. Bryce is a Member of the Medical Advisory Group at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Lima Peru, and Emeritus Professor at Universidad Antenor Orrego, Trujjillo Peru.
In 2010, he was awarded by the Peruvian College of Medicine the Diploma and Special Medal of Merit for his extraordinary work on behalf of human health. He is the former President of the Peruvian Society of Arterial Hypertension and the Pan-American College of Endothelium. He is a member of the II and III Latin American Consensus on Arterial Hypertension and a council member of the Latin American Consensus on Hypertension in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Metabolic Syndrome. He is a member of the Peruvian Council of Prevention and Treatment of Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, and Metabolic Syndrome. He is also an ethics-investigation member of the Latin American Society of Arterial Hypertension (LASH) Executive Committee- 2013-2019, and actually the Board of Directors.
In August 2015, he served as the author and General Coordinator of the consensus on recommendations for the control of cardiovascular risk in the South Pacific (Ecuador-Peru-Chile. In November 2015, he was a guest speaker at the International Symposium where he taught about the complex management of Hypertension and its Comorbidities, in Barcelona, Spain.
In May 2017, he was an expositor and discussant in the Master Course in cardiovascular disease in San Salvador, El Salvador. In October 2017, Dr. Bryce participated as Co-author in the Latin American Guidelines of Hypertension and Metabolic Disorders. In April 2018, he joined the Editorial Committee of the Spanish issue of the JACC and became a Member of the Council on Epidemiology and Cardiovascular Prevention- SIAC. He is an ESC Fellow and ACC member.
Dr. Bryce is recently a member of the IAS Regional Federation Executive Committee for Americas. He is a member of the Academia Latinoamericana de Lipodología y Prevención Cardiometabólica (ALALIP). In 2021 he was awarded by the Ibero-American Network of Advanced Medicine (RIMA) in collaboration with the WHO and PAHO, the silver medal for Excellence in International Scientific Updating in Barcelona, Spain.
