Dr Popov obtained his MD with an honorary degree, a Master of Internal Medicine and PhD in Cardiology from Medical Faculty at Kharkov State Medical University, Ukraine.
In 1996 he served as a Research Fellow at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology of Ukrainian Research Institute of Therapy AMS of Ukraine.
In 2007 he obtained his Dr Sc Med in Cardiology at the Moscow University of Medicine and Dentistry
He completed postgraduate training in Clinical Pharmacology and Internal Medicine at the Russian Medical Academy of Post graduate education in Moscow, Russia.
He conducts his research in the area of SCD , pharmacotherapy of hypertension, lipydology, pharmaceutical medicine.
He is currently Head of the Department of Professional Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical trial Unit at the Scientific Clinical Center of Russian Railways JSC , Moscow. Russia
Dr. Popov has over 15 years of experience in cardiovascular multinational clinical trials, in roles as a co-investigator, principal investigator and project leader .
He has coordinated national and international clinical trials in the following therapeutic areas: Hypertension, CHF, Angina , COPD etc.
He is Active Member of the Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Drug Therapy working group of the European Society of Cardiology , the British Association of Research Quality Assurance (BARQA GCP), and of the Russian Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome Research (RSPQR).
