Jay Cohn, M.D., ISCP President

Professor of Medicine, Cardiovascular Division
Director, Rasmussen Center for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, University of Minnesota

One of the challenges of an international society dedicated to educating medical practitioners is that practice styles vary around the world.  The expansion of clinical trials internationally has helped to bring more uniformity into pharmacotherapy, but availability of drugs varies from country to country and patient characteristics and disease prevalence also vary.

National practice guidelines often differ in their emphasis and recommendations. The ISCP recognizes that practice can never be uniform worldwide but that it should be informed by physiologic and pharmacologic insight buttressed by evidence from data and incorporation into rational treatment strategies is the responsibility of our educational effort.

It is critical that this effort be overseen by a geographically diverse faculty.  Our goal therefore is to seek diversity in our website, our symposia and our journal.  We need your help in achieving that goal.

We urge physician-experts from around the world to join us.

Jay N. Cohn, M.D.
