I am delighted to welcome you to the inaugural issue of
our ISCP newsletter.
Our goal with this electronic publication is to keep members and interested health care
professionals apprised of activities of our Society as we develop international programs aimed at improving cardiovascular pharmacotherapy.
Cardiovascular disease is now the leading cause of death worldwide. Drug therapy has gained in importance with growing evidence of its remarkable success in slowing
disease progression and improving quality and duration of life.
Our challenge is to foster appropriate use of these effective drugs to enhance the health of the world population.
We urge you to join in our effort. If you are not currently an ISCP member, we invite you to apply for membership so you can participate actively in this mission. A scholarly
and impartial body advocating for rational pharmacotherapy is critical in our international effort to improve cardiovascular care.
